NervClub Best Publication Award 2023

NervClub e.V. – Interdisciplinary Study group „Peripheral Nerves“ – is awarding a yearly "NervClub Best Publication Award“ recognising and supporting scientific work and publication in the field of diagnosis and therapy of diseases of peripheral nerves.

The award will be presented at the NervClub Annual Meeting (09 February 2023, Liege, Belgium). The award winner will be asked to give a short lecture at this meeting and to personally receive the award.

The award will recognize publications that have been published or accepted for publication in peer-reviewed journals (German or English language). Publications must be original research articles reporting on basic or clinical research with significant relevance for the advancement of concepts for diagnosis, maintenance or regeneration of peripheral nerve functions. Case reports or review articles will not be recognized. The applying publication needs to be published or accepted for publication (acceptance letter required) within the past two years prior to the award presentation or until the 31st October of the year preceding the award presentation.

Applications are accepted from all fields, nominees are not required to be members of NervClub e.V. or affiliated research or clinical groups. Applicants are first authors of the publications and their conferral of a doctorate does not date back later than 10 years and they have not more than 45 years of age.

Applications are accepted from the first authors of the publication through an informal letter of application (see below).

All applications will be reviewed by the members of the advisory committee of NervClub e.V., whereupon the impact factor and citation record will not necessarily account to the decision.

This annual award will be bestowed upon the first author(s) of the selected article (a personal award of € 1,000).

Applications should be submitted until 31 October 2023 to the managing secretary.
The application should include the complete list of following documents, ordered and submitted as single PDF files.
Informal letter of application; short summary of the publication (max. 2 DIN A4 pages, Arial 12, spacing 1.5); copy of publication; all review reports from the review process at the finally accepting journal; signed short biosketch including a publication list.
In case the first authorship has been divided, signed biosketches from all first authors should be submitted. For accepted but not yet fully published (e.g. PubMed.gov) papers, a copy of the acceptance letter needs also to be submitted.

Award of the Publication Prize 2020

Dr. Jannis E. Meents (representing the group of first authors) gave a very interesting 15-min talk, which was lively discussed, on the occasion of the Annual Meeting (Jahrestagung) in Oldenburg, 07 February 2020.
